Andrew Wiggins and Stephen Curry powered the Golden State Warriors to a commanding 120-97 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night. Wiggins scored 27 points on 12-of-17 shooting, while Curry added 23 points and eight assists as Golden State improved to 11-3.
The Warriors built an early lead, closing the first quarter ahead 41-22. Jonathan Kuminga’s defensive effort and transition plays ignited a run that included Buddy Hield’s 3-pointer, which forced an Atlanta timeout. By halftime, Golden State led 67-42, capitalizing on 11 first-half turnovers by the Hawks.
Trayce Jackson-Davis made a strong contribution with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Hield added 11 points off the bench.
Draymond Green contributed across the board, finishing with nine points, nine assists, and seven rebounds, though he missed all four of his attempts from beyond the arc.
For Atlanta, Jalen Johnson led the team with a double-double, recording 15 points and 14 rebounds. Trae Young added 12 points and 11 assists but struggled from the field, going 4-for-12.
The Hawks, now 7-9, continued their losing streak at Chase Center, where they last won in March 2021.
The Warriors’ defense held Atlanta to 33.3% shooting from the field and just 26.7% from three-point range. The Hawks managed only 12 points from their bench, compared to Golden State’s balanced scoring across its lineup.
Brandin Podziemski left the game in the fourth quarter after taking a hit to the face.
The game also marked a standout moment for Lindy Waters III, who scored 10 points starting in place of De’Anthony Melton, sidelined for the season with a knee injury. Kuminga chipped in with 10 points, six rebounds, and two assists in limited minutes.
The Warriors forced 17 turnovers, scoring 21 points off those mistakes. Wiggins capped off the first half with a layup at the buzzer, showcasing the team’s aggressive play. Curry’s four triples and the Warriors’ 35% shooting from deep further extended their dominance.
The Hawks’ bench unit, including Bogdan Bogdanovic and Onyeka Okongwu, failed to provide the necessary spark. Bogdanovic struggled with his shot, hitting only 2-of-14 attempts, while Okongwu added nine points but committed two turnovers.
