The Houston Rockets cruised past the San Antonio Spurs 127-100 on Wednesday night, led by standout performances from Jalen Green and Fred VanVleet. Each player contributed 21 points as Houston extended its winning streak.
The Rockets (5-3) wasted no time establishing control, racing to a substantial lead by halftime with a score of 69-44. Green’s offensive skills and VanVleet’s leadership set the tone early, allowing Houston to hold a 25-point advantage by halftime.
VanVleet not only scored efficiently, shooting 10-for-11 from the field, but also added 10 assists and seven rebounds, both season-highs.
Alperen Sengun supported with 16 points, helping the Rockets control the game from the start and improve their record with a fourth win in five games.
The Spurs (3-5), missing key players and head coach Gregg Popovich due to illness, struggled defensively without top on-ball defender Jeremy Sochan.
Victor Wembanyama led San Antonio with 15 points, six rebounds, and three blocks, but his efforts were not enough to close the gap created by Houston’s offense.
Houston’s bench kept the momentum, with Tari Eason adding 12 points, and Amen Thompson delivering eight points, six rebounds, and four assists. The Rockets’ depth contributed 66 points in the paint, outscoring San Antonio by 20 in that area.
