LeBron James secured a triple-double, scoring 32 points, grabbing 14 rebounds, and dishing out 10 assists, leading the Los Angeles Lakers to a 131-127 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Saturday. This win marks the Lakers’ third consecutive victory under new head coach JJ Redick.
Los Angeles built a solid lead, going up by as many as 15 points in the first half. However, the Kings managed to cut the deficit to 64-60 by halftime and even took a seven-point lead in the third quarter.
James helped orchestrate the Lakers’ comeback with a strong fourth quarter, contributing 16 points. Anthony Davis also had a standout performance, adding 31 points and nine rebounds to the mix.
With 37 seconds remaining, Davis hit a critical three-pointer, pushing the Lakers ahead 128-123 after the Kings had narrowed the gap to two points.
In a standout effort for Sacramento, Domantas Sabonis recorded a triple-double, scoring 29 points while shooting 10 of 14 from the field. He also collected 12 rebounds and 10 assists, demonstrating his all-around ability.
All five Kings starters scored in double figures. De’Aaron Fox added 28 points, while DeMar DeRozan contributed 23 points, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Lakers.
Redick’s leadership is proving effective early in the season, as the Lakers remain undefeated at 3-0. Davis has consistently scored at least 31 points in each game so far.
The Kings put forth a solid effort, but shooting 39.8% from the field hampered their chances. Sacramento’s bench was limited, contributing only 12 points throughout the contest.
