Duane Washington Jr. has confirmed his move to Partizan Belgrade, marking a new chapter in his basketball career.
Washington announced his decision via social media, tweeting, “Нови дом! Brate!” alongside a photo of himself in a Partizan jersey.
After going undrafted in the 2021 NBA Draft, Washington initially signed a two-way contract with the Indiana Pacers on August 5, 2021.
He split his time between the Pacers and their G League affiliate, the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, before having his contract converted to a standard one on April 7, 2022.
Washington was waived by the Pacers on July 14, 2022, and soon after, signed a two-way deal with the Phoenix Suns on August 3, 2022.
He was waived by the Suns on February 1, 2023, and subsequently signed a two-way contract with the New York Knicks on February 28, 2023.
In the 2022-23 season, Washington averaged 7.9 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 2 assists in 12.7 minutes per game for the Suns.
Washington experienced multiple transactions with the Knicks throughout 2023, including multiple signings and waivings, without appearing in any NBA games last season.
He played 11 games for the Westchester Knicks in the G League last season, posting averages of 22.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.8 assists in 31.2 minutes per game.
