Per Marc Stein, Mikal Bridges is expected to sign a team-friendly extension with the New York Knicks, similar to Jalen Brunson’s recent deal. Bridges can sign a two-year extension in October or a four-year deal in 2025.
The Knicks traded five first-round picks and a pick swap to the Brooklyn Nets for Bridges. Securing Brunson and Bridges on favorable extensions allows the Knicks to build and retain their roster more effectively.
Bridges signed a four-year, $90.9 million deal with the Phoenix Suns in 2021. He can choose a two-year, $72.5 million extension in October or a three-year, $112.9 million deal next offseason. His current contract runs until 2026-27, after which he could sign a five-year, nearly $297 million deal.
