During the NBA Summer League Lakers vs. Celtics game, Jaylen Brown made headlines with his candid assessment of Bronny James’ pro prospects.
According to Basketball Forever, Brown, who was courtside, appeared skeptical about Bronny’s readiness for the professional league, reportedly saying, “Honestly, I don’t think Bronny is a pro.”
Footage captured Brown’s remarks amidst Bronny’s performance, where he finished with 2 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist, shooting 1-5 from the field and 0-3 from beyond the arc. Notably, Bronny has struggled from three-point range, going 0-15 in Summer League games so far.
Brown’s comments sparked a conversation with Kysre Gondrezick, documented by Kicks on X. Gondrezick suggested Bronny could play in the G-League, to which Brown responded, “I don’t think so, I think because of his name he’ll be on the Lakers.”
Bronny James, son of NBA legend LeBron James, has garnered immense attention and scrutiny due to his famous lineage. His performances in Summer League games are under heightened scrutiny.
The No. 55 pick by the Lakers has already signed a guaranteed four-year contract with the team.
