Derrick Jones Jr. has opted for a fresh start with the Los Angeles Clippers, leaving the Dallas Mavericks behind after agreeing to a lucrative three-year, $30 million contract.

According to NBA insider Shams Charania, Jones’s move to the Clippers is seen as a significant acquisition for the team.

Jones, who previously played on a modest one-year, $2.7 million contract with the Mavericks, impressed with his versatility and athleticism.

During the regular season, the 27-year-old forward averaged 8.6 points and 3.3 rebounds in 23.5 minutes per game for Dallas.

In the playoffs, his impact grew as he upped his performance to 9.1 points and 3.5 rebounds per game in 29.4 minutes.
