The New York Knicks (2-seed) drew first blood in their Eastern Conference first-round series against the Philadelphia 76ers (7-seed) with a hard-fought 111-104 victory in Game 1 at Madison Square Garden.
Led by standout performances from Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, and Deuce McBride, the Knicks showcased their depth and resilience to secure the crucial win.
Despite a spirited effort from Joel Embiid (29 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists) and Tyrese Maxey (33 points), and the 76ers, the Knicks’ bench proved to be the difference-maker in the contest.
Miles McBride, in particular, delivered a standout performance off the bench, pouring in 21 points and providing a much-needed spark for New York during crucial stretches of the game.
Brunson and Hart also played pivotal roles in the Knicks’ triumph, each contributing 22 points to lead the team in scoring. Hart’s clutch shooting down the stretch helped the Knicks stave off a late rally from the 76ers and secure the victory on their home court.
With the victory, New York takes a 1-0 series lead and will look to build on their momentum heading into Game 2 at Madison Square Garden on Monday.
