Charlotte Hornets head coach Steve Clifford thought that his group couldn’t stop Detroit Pistons guard Cade Cunningham in pick-and-roll during Monday’s 114-97 road loss (22 points/6 rebounds/8 assists/1 steal/8-20 FG/2-10 3-PT/4-4 FT/+20 +/-).

Reporter: “Cade Cunningham in particular the first quarter, 12 points. What made him so tough?”

Clifford: “Pick-and-roll game in the fourth quarter. Not only did he score, but we started off the game taking the ball out of his hands. We were double teaming every pick-and-roll, and he picked us apart. So we got out of the double team, and we came back to it, it wasn’t effective. Regardless of the combination, he hurt us with the pick-and-rolls with the big guys and he hurt us with pick-and-rolls with the other perimeter players.”
