The Detroit Pistons continue to keep a keen eye on the possibility of bringing back former player Tobias Harris, who currently plays for the Philadelphia 76ers.

Report from James L. Edwards III of The Athletic suggests that the Pistons, where Harris played from 2016-18, have maintained their interest in the sharpshooting forward.

Despite ongoing trade rumors, there seems to be a hesitation from Detroit to part ways with assets before the trade deadline, with a potential plan to pursue Harris during the summer using available cap space.

Harris, 31, holds personal connections to Detroit and maintains relationships with key figures in the Pistons’ front office and coaching staff.

The decision to wait until the summer could be influenced by Detroit’s strategic approach, considering the potential to secure Harris, who is on an expiring 5-year, $180 million contract, without sacrificing assets in a trade.

In the current NBA season, Harris has maintained a solid performance, averaging 17.9 points, 6 rebounds, and 3.2 assists in 34 minutes per game for the Sixers.
