Nikola Jokic, the reigning NBA champion and two-time MVP, showcased his dominance as the Denver Nuggets routed the Oklahoma City Thunder 128-95.

Despite his impressive performance, Jokic had some light-hearted advice for Thunder rookie Chet Holmgren, who stood out as one of the Thunder’s top performers.

Jokic, known for his basketball IQ and versatile skill set, had a stellar outing with 28 points and 14 rebounds in just 30 minutes of action. However, he showed appreciation for Holmgren’s unique talent and potential.

The 21-year-old Holmgren, making his NBA debut after recovering from a Lisfranc injury that sidelined him for the 2022-23 season, displayed promise with 19 points in 26 minutes on the court. Despite his slender frame, Holmgren’s agility and skills have drawn attention.

Jokic’s made a playful comment about Holmgren needing to be “a little bit fatter”. While acknowledging Holmgren’s talent, the Serbian superstar’s remark adds a touch of humor to the post-game analysis.

“He’s a really talented guy, but this is his first year. He’s still learning everything… I think he needs to be a little bit fatter, to be honest. But yes, he has a talent that is unique,” Jokic said about Holmgren.
