Former Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard, who recently joined the Milwaukee Bucks, has added his name to the growing list of NBA stars expressing interest in participating in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The 33-year-old point guard, who already has a gold medal from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics with Team USA, revealed his interest in competing next year but emphasized that he would carefully consider the decision after the upcoming NBA season.

“I would definitely be interested,” Lillard stated. “I don’t know if I could say right now that it’s something that I would absolutely do. I’ve had the experience of winning the gold medal. Obviously, it wasn’t a full experience because of COVID.

“But I’ve had the experience, and it’s a very time-consuming thing. I’m very present with my kids. I got three kids. I plan on having a long season this year, so when the summer comes, I would hate for it to be so short.”

Lillard, known for his dedication to family and community, expressed his love for spending time with his children and extended family members.

He acknowledged his interest in representing Team USA once again but stressed that it would depend on several factors, including how he feels at the time and whether he receives an invitation.

“I love spending time with my kids and being able to do those things, be with my family,” Lillard continued. “I’m tight with all my family members. So it’s just how I would feel or even if they invite me to be on the team. So I’m definitely interested, but it’s not something that I’m for sure about right now.”

Joining a prestigious group of NBA stars, including LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and Devin Booker who have already expressed their desire to compete in the Paris Olympics, Lillard’s potential participation would undoubtedly be a significant addition to Team USA’s roster.
