The hiring of Darko Rajakovic as the new head coach for the Raptors seems to be generating optimism in Toronto.

According to Josh Lewenberg of TSN.ca, Rajakovic is adopting a “people-first” strategy in his new position and is establishing rapid connections with the players.

Scottie Barnes expressed his admiration for the coach’s “energy” and “joy,” and Gary Trent Jr. praised Rajakovic’s excellent communication skills, highlighting his interest in discussing topics beyond basketball with the players.

“I’ve been in the NBA six years and I’ve had more conversations with him (outside of basketball) than with any coach I’ve ever had,” Trent said, per Lewenberg. “It’s been refreshing.”
