The Lakers are expected to use their only pick in this year’s NBA Draft – number 17 – along with one or two other players in a trade to acquire a starter.

Jovan Buha of The Athletic writes that a whole bunch of players have been linked with Los Angeles. Namely, Myles Turner, Buddy Hield, Dorian Finney-Smith, Royce O’Neale, Gary Trent Jr. and Kristaps Porzingis.

According to Buha, the most likely package that the Lakers could put together would include the No. 17 draft pick plus Mo Bamba and/or Malik Beasley.

Of the aforementioned players, Turner, Hield, Finney-Smith and Trent are under contract for at least one year. Porzingis has to decide today whether to exercise his player option for next season while O’Neale’s contract is partially guaranteed (it becomes fully guaranteed on July 10).
