Disputing the still narratives that went scattered about Chris Paul and the Phoenix Suns, new head coach Frank Vogel finally spoke out to clear the speculations.

In a talk with Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated, Vogel reiterated that the Suns did not waive Paul yet as the franchise remains pondering about their future with the future Hall of Famer.

As such, Vogel also made it clear that he is much leaning to still remain in Phoenix as he expects Paul to help them reach the top and their desired destination.

“Obviously there was a misunderstanding yesterday. We did not waive Chris, as was reported. But there’s ongoing conversations about all of the options to improve the roster,” said Vogel, per Joey Linn of Sports Illustrated. “I personally communicated with Chris and feel strongly about the opportunity to work with him.

“He’s someone I’ve just had an immense respect for over the years, not only just his game, his toughness, IQ, he’s one of the great winners our game has ever seen. He’s done so much for this team the last few years, so I’m really hopeful to have an opportunity to work with him this next year, and I think he can really help us get over the top.”

While there are reports already that the two L.A. teams in Lakers and Clippers are being linked up to Paul, it is still premature to assume that the star point guard will indeed head to the exits eventually.

All of these saga within the Paul-Suns saga can only be known prior to June 28 — as the date will officially guarantee Paul’s hefty contract with the ball club.
