Kevin Durant refuses to expand on why Suns failed this season

Following the Phoenix Suns’ playoff exit, Kevin Durant declined to delve into the reasons behind their postseason struggles.

Despite high expectations, Durant chose not to provide context, emphasizing the need to focus on improvement for the future.

“I won’t provide context, whenever I provide context it’ll be looked at as an excuse so I’ll just be better next year,” Durant said after the game.

“As I’ve said before, I don’t want to make excuses for anything. We just got to be a better ball club moving forward,” he added.

As Durant looks ahead, he emphasizes the importance of continuity and building a strong team foundation.

“Continuity is important. All the great teams in the league this far has been together for two-three years. Minnesotas, Denvers, Bostons, the Lakers, OKCs. A lot of teams have been together for a few years. So I’m looking forward to building,” Durant said.

While acknowledging the significance of continuity, Durant refrains from making excuses for the Suns’ performance.

“I won’t go into specifics because that’s stuff we’ll talk about. Like I said, I don’t want to be up here making excuses for what happened. So we just deal with it and we’ll figure it out as a family moving forward,” Durant again refused to expand on what went wrong for the Suns.

There could be major changes coming to Phoenix in the offseason. Reportedly, the team will consider changing the whole coaching staff, including head coach Fran Vogel.
