Draymond Green has taken his side regarding the Rudy Gobert-Kyle Anderson scuffle that summarized the entire Minnesota Timberwolves’ lopsided campaign and bannered the final day of the NBA’s 2022-23 regular season.

In the latest release of his podcast, Green went on to defend Gobert while criticizing Anderson’s poor choice of words that ignited the Wolves’ bench fiasco on Sunday against the New Orleans Pelicans.

“There are just some words, as men, you just don’t say,” Green said about Anderson’s “bi—” words on Gobert. Kyle Anderson uttered some words that a lot people thinks. … It’s not up to Kyle Anderson how Rudy Gobert reacts.

“I personally think Rudy Gobert is on the softer side. He gained a little respect from me because he stood up for himself.”

Gobert’s punch is indeed inexcusable, but Anderson’s way of referring to his teammate as “bi—” also deserves to draw criticism. The veteran could have been mindful that the French big man was dealing with some back spasms, and he was the one who even demanded him to play in the must-win game against the Pels.

As such, the verdict has been closed. Gobert was suspended due to his action last weekend and won’t play for the Play-In duel of Minnesota against the L.A. Lakers on Tuesday.

But the T-Wolves also need to address Anderson’s behavior, which can’t be considered a known leader of the club.
