Anthony Edwards is frustrated with how the Minnesota Timberwolves have crumbled against the already eliminated Portland Trail Blazers team on Sunday, 107-105.

“Man, our fault. Guys who played tonight, all on us. We didn’t come ready to play, as you can see,” said Edwards, per team reporter Dane Moore.

Minnesota entered the weekend with the urgency of pushing themselves alive for a postseason spot, but they were silenced along with their home crowd by a Blazers team without the now-deactivated Damian Lillard.

Edwards’ 37 points were wasted upon the balanced attack of Portland. Shaedon Sharpe exploded with 27 markers, while Kevin Knox dropped 19 off the bench.

The Wolves have a fair 26-25 record against .500 teams this season, but Edwards doesn’t like how his team handles the task of approaching the must-win matches.

“It’s just a level of respect for the game,” said Edwards about losing against lowly teams. “You’ve got to treat every game the same, and that’s something that we lack.”

The Timberwolves are now 39-40 and dropped to the ninth seed with the loss. They can only hope to make a response up next against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday to still be active in the playoff race.

“I think we just need to lock back in and figure it out, come together as a team and win these last three games,” said Edwards. “We need to win these last three. I think that’s the most important thing.”
