Veteran center Daniel Theis participated for the entirety of the Indiana Pacers’ Tuesday practice, per Dustin Dopirak of the Indianapolis Star.

As such, there is a chance that he will finally be available to play and make his 2022-23 debut this week.

“I got no pain, no issues right now,” Theis said after practice. “I did some running for me. It was good for me and for the team.”

Upon landing in Indiana last offseason in a trade with the Boston Celtics, Theis was sidelined within the team. Last November, he had surgery to address his sore knee issues.

But with him soon to be back after making ample recovery, Pacers coach Rick Carlisle can only be delighted to have more frontcourt options in his deck.

“He’s proven that he’s a high-level system player,” Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said about Theis. “… He’s an experienced big that knows how to play the game. He’s a solid player at both ends of the floor. I don’t have any doubt that he’ll fit in.

“He’s the kind of player that would fit in with any NBA team. He rebounds, he passes, he defends, he shoots it. He understands how to play the game. He’s a high-level competitor. There are a lot of things to like about him.”
