Doc Rivers gave Jaden Springer a chance to play in the game against the Pistons. The sophomore came off the bench and scored 10 points in just 9 minutes of play as the 76ers blew out the Pistons (147-116).

After the game his teammate Tobias Harris talked about the 20-year-old guard, who in his opinion has a bright future in the NBA ahead of him.

“I thought that tonight he had a great game,” the 30-year-old power forward said. “I was proud of him not only being a young guy in the NBA, but he’s really progressed his game. A lot of people don’t get to see it because of the makeup of the team that we have and the talent.

“He’s made great improvement. He’s going to be a helluva player in the NBA in my opinion. Just because of his ability to defend and to play… to really defend one through four, even fives. So he has that down.

“And if he continues to improve his skills offensively, he’s going to be a really good offensive player as well. He’s doing all the little things cutting, rebounding on the offensive end that is going to help his progression on that side of the basketball floor.

“I’m always impressed with just seeing his development. I think if you ask anybody on the roster about him during training camp, he was probably one of the surprises of the team in what he was able to do.

“Obviously during a long season it gets lost in the shuffle, but I’m always proud when he gets opportunities to get in game and to be able to play like he played tonight. That was big and a big confidence boost for the young player.”

It was just Springer’s 5th appearance on the floor for the Sixers this season. He is averaging 1.4 points, 1 rebound in 3 minutes per game.
