Chris Paul also stands one out of many who are eagerly campaigning for Carmelo Anthony to be back on the NBA hardwood.

Paul believes that his good friend Anthony still has some gas left in his tank and very much deserves to be back given his talent and caliber that he established as one of the all-time greats.

“Melo is one of the best to ever to play the game,” Paul said of Anthony following the Phoenix Suns’ loss against the New York Knicks, via Stefan Bondy of New York Daily News. “I’m obviously biased and hope he’s in the league soon because somebody of that caliber, with that ability, with the heart that he has, and the stuff he’s done for the game — he should be able to walk off the court when he’s ready.”

Anthony’s phone remains to wait for a basketball call, as the 39-year-old is currently an unrestricted free agent. There were murmurs of a reunion between him and the Knicks, but Bondy noted that the franchise has no interest to tap this idea.

The future Hall of Famer previously played last season for the Los Angeles Lakers, logging 69 games in 26.0 minutes on average. His productive numbers of 13.3 points and 4.2 boards in 44.1 percent shooting for the purple and gold shouts loudly in his case of another NBA call-up.

Though he is now in the twilight stage of his illustrious career, it still appears that Anthony has something to offer with those never-aging offensive wits and coveted experiences which can still be vital for a title-contending team or the development of a rebuilding club.
