Before the Portland Trail Blazers hit the road and took the Golden State Warriors this Friday, Gary Payton II officially accepted his memorabilia from his magical run last season with the Dubs.

Right at the pregame of the match, the Warriors conducted a special ceremony of handing Payton II his championship ring from their 2021-22 championship season. A touching video tribute was also flashed on the jumbotron of the Chase Center to display the veteran’s memorable contributions.

Draymond Green himself took the mic in presenting Payton II’s golden ring.

Posting his defensive prowess and reliable scoring off the bench, Payton II enchanted the Bay Area faithful with his humbling journey and sheer efforts to help the Warriors to reclaim its contending status.

After elevating his value from their title exploits, the two-way guard opted to leave Golden State last offseason and seize his bag from the Blazers, inking a three-year, $26.1 million deal.

Though he is now no longer a member of the Warriors, Payton II will still bleed gold forever.
