The Washington Wizards have given their well-deserved honor to John Wall, who made his return to D.C. this time as a Clipper.

Prior to Saturday’s home matchup against the L.A. Clippers, the crowd within the Capital One Arena delivered their thunderous applause and warming cheers when Wall was given a video tribute.

Wall was already feeling it when he drained a jump shot from a sick crossover against Cory Kispert in the second frame, pounding his chest and enchanting the Washington crowd as if he’s still wearing a Wiz jersey.

Wall played nine seasons for Washington and was their franchise cornerstone upon being picked for the first overall selection of the 2010 Draft. Using his extreme athleticism and elite playmaking, he powered the franchise to four postseason appearances.

Unfortunately, injuries swarmed the former All-Star guard in the latter part of his career, which ultimately convinced the team brass to pull the trigger and trade him to the Houston Rockets for Russell Westbrook.

After two years with Houston, Wall found himself signing with the Clippers last offseason, now averaging 12.6 points, 5.8 dimes, and 2.6 boards in 21 games.

Though the old times have already passed, Wall and the Wizards can only embrace their past which was filled with joy and precious memories.
