Future Hall of Famers LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul have all voiced their desire to own NBA franchise after they retire.
In October 2022, James doubled his desire to own the Las Vegas franchise.
“He probably sees every single interview and transcript that comes through from NBA players,” James said. “So, I want the team here, Adam.”
“It’s the best fanbase in the world,” said James. “And I would love to bring a team here at some point. That would be amazing.”
KD said he would love to own a piece of the Seattle Sonics after hanging up his sneakers.
“That’s a great question! I would love to, but it is easier to say yeah, I want to be a part of it. Then to know how to do it, but hell yeah, and bring basketball back to Seattle and build a winning team,” Durant said.
“As someone that loves the game and enjoys the business as well, but understanding the pure game of basketball. Especially in Seattle, that would be sweet. But that has always been a dream of mine to run an NBA franchise and help lead young players as I get older. That would be an awesome experience.”
Earlier this year, Chris Paul spoke at the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Summit, and shared that he has ambitions to be apart of an ownership group one day.
“I would like to be a part of an ownership group after I’m done playing,” said Paul.
You can now added Steph Curry to that list as well. After the Warriors lost to the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night was asked if he had any interest in ownership after he retires.
“If the right opportunity presents Itself, absolutely.”
