The Magic visited Brooklyn to face the Nets. It was the hosts that recorded a win (109-102). In this game rookie Paolo Banchero, a Seattle native, faced Kevin Durant who represented the Sonics when he was a kid.

The two-time NBA champion led all scorers with 45 points, while Banchero had 24 and was tied with Bol Bol as the top scorer for Orlando. The rookie talked about facing the former Seattle superstar.

“That’s one of the guys I always watched growing up,” this year’s number one draft pick said about KD, per Mike Vorkunov. “He played for the Sonics. Came to Seattle for the Pro-Am.

“I remember watching him when I was really young, like 12 years old watching him play in Seattle Pacific gym. So it was crazy to be on the NBA floor against him. It’s a full circle moment.”
