Orlando Magic guard Gary Harris feels like he is nearing a return from competitive basketball again, via The Orlando Sentinel’s Khobi Price. Harris missed the Magic’s 13 games to start this season after having an arthroscopic meniscectomy surgery to address his left knee meniscus tear back in Aug. 31.

“I’m moving around a little bit right now,” Harris said. “I’m really trying to get my timing back. Get back in basketball shape. I’m testing stuff out each day. I get more comfortable around the court.”

Harris has been swarmed by plenty of injury issues since the start of his career for the Denver Nuggets, and this latest issue serves as the first time he underwent a needed surgery.

As such, he felt that his movement is kind of different as he continues to trail his road towards recovery.

“It’s just different,” Harris said. “Different movements. It’s something I have to get back comfortable and familiar with after my first one. Just seeing how my body responds.”

Harris signed a two-year, $26MM extension with Orlando before the market officially opened its gates last offseason. His impending return would bolster the Magic’s backcourt camp that has been decimated by injuries.
