Cleveland Cavaliers’ Cedi Osman is reportedly a rumored trade candidate to be dealt for Phoenix Suns wing Jae Crowder (hat tip to John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM Phoenix).

Joe Vardon of The Athletic recently reported that the Cavs have an interest to acquire Crowder, who is currently being shopped by the Suns in the league’s marketplace following his trade request and embattled social media postings. Amid their promising, star-studded lineup that features Donovan Mitchell, Darius Garland, Jarrett Allen, and Evan Mobley, Cleveland has a noticeable vacancy at the small forward spot which can be utilized to defend multiple players from the opposition. Logically, Crowder is a reasonable asset to be chased for due to his 3-and-D reputation and versatility.

A fan-favorite amongst the Cavs faithful, Osman is a significant energy guy for the ball club with his hustle, efforts and dirty work on a nightly basis. The Turkish swingman has been repping the Cavaliers since his NBA season debut in 2017- 2018, averaging respectable numbers in points (10.0), rebounds (3.2), assists (2.1) and field goal shooting (42.3 percent) as a role player across 327 total games.

Osman remains under contract until next season, wherein it stands as a nonguaranteed. Should the Cavs be planning to go for Crowder by using Osman as a trade chip, they have to insert an additional asset for salary matching purposes, as the veteran forward has an expiring contract worth $10.1MM in amount.
