Donovan Mitchell was the primary target for the Knicks this offseason. Reportedly, both sides had mutual interest. However, the Jazz traded their star to the Cavaliers instead.

It was viewed as a failure on the part of New York by the team’s fans. However, according to Knicks executive William Wesley, also known as World Wide Wes, the asking price by Utah was just too much.

“[World Wide Wes] said ‘[The Jazz] wanted my wife, they wanted my kids, they wanted my grandkids [for Donovan Mitchell]. They were just trying to rip somebody off,'” Barkley said on SiriusXM NBA Radio.
