Instagram account thehoopfilms raised a question whether the Toronto Raptors should retire DeMar DeRozan’s jersey. Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James weighed in by saying they “absolutely should” do that.
“THATS A REAL QUESTION??? LOL. ABSOLUTELY THEY SHOULD,” was LeBron’s comment. DeRozan, who is set to continue his career with the Chicago Bulls, spent nine years in Toronto, helping the franchise become one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference.
He was traded to the San Antonio Spurs the year before the Raptors won their first and so far the only championship in 2019. In James’ mind, there is no doubt that DeRozan has made a big enough mark in Toronto’s history to have his jersey retired.
