Joel Embiid has missed several games due to back tightness this season. Despite the back issues, Embiid is on the MVP conversation this year leading the Sixers to the best record in the East so far.

After another great performance vs. the Rockets Wednesday, Embiid revealed that his back issues became more severe when Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James committed a flagrant foul on him, according to Chris W. Crouse of FortyEightMinutes.com.

Despite that, Embiid said the situation around his injury is not alarming. He went off for another MVP-caliber performance against the Rockets last night scoring 31 points.

The All-Star from Cameroon also had 11 rebounds and nine assists to go with his game-high scoring performance. The Sixers improved to 19-10 remaining at the top of the East.
