The Los Angeles Lakers held off the Boston Celtics on Saturday’s night classic matchup to put an end to a two-game losing streak.

The Lakers secured their victory at the final seconds of the game, after Alex Caruso made a huge defensive play, which showed his high basketball IQ.

Caruso outran Brown to half court, where Walker’s push-ahead pass was directed, and got a hand on the ball before the Celtics’ superstar could.

“Once the ball popped up in the air, regardless if we were going to get it back or not, I was kind of making my way back on defense just because that’s kind of what we teach ourselves to do,” Caruso said in the post-game media session.

“Just being in the right place at the right time,” he continued.

Caruso only had two points, three rebounds and one assist on Saturday, but he did all the little things to help his team win the game.

The Texas A&M product is averaging a team-high +17.5 in 287 minutes on the floor this season. He is part of Frank Vogel’s closing lineup, offering some scrappy defensive plays, while stretching the floor on the other end.
