NBA legend Scottie Pippen thinks that it is easier to score in today’s NBA than it was back in his days. The six-time NBA champion attributed that to the way the game is called by the referees.

According to him, in modern NBA the rules and the referees are on the side of attacking players which makes their job to score way easier.

“Hell yes!” Pippen responded to Mackenzie Salmon’s question if he thought it is easier for players to rack up huge numbers now versus when he played. “This is a scorers’ game now. Offensive players get more calls so they’re getting to the free-throw line a lot more. That allows you as an offensive player to be more aggressive.”

“You see individual performance stepping up more in the last 5-to-10 years in the game based on how the officiating is going. Offensive players know that they are totally protected by the officiating. They tend to be more aggressive. We see it with James Harden, we see it with Westbrook whenever he gets back up on the court.”
