The head coach of Maccabi Tel-Aviv, Giannis Sfairopoulos, talked about the goals of the Israeli club in the 2019/20 season.
Here is what the Greek coach said in an official statement:
“It’s a new season, a new beginning. Everyone is excited about the new start. Everyone in the club did their best to bring good players to the team.
First of all, I would like to thank the owners, the GM and the scouting department for working hard all summer to bring in the players we wanted.
Now it’s a very important part of the season, the pre-season. This is not the time to say a lot of words, it’s time to work.
We have to build our game through these first practices, lay the groundwork and put the new players to our philosophy. It’s time for each of us to learn the game of the other so that we will create a great squad.
That is why we need to be patient because we should understand that this is a team with seven new players. We kept the core of the roster and continued in the positive direction, now we have to continue to build the way forward.
This group will need time to find chemistry and roles. We are all working very hard to be ready at the right moment, all together to be ready to fight for our goals.”
