According to Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic, the Minnesota Timberwolves president and coach Tom Thibodeau met with a 29-year-old and a four-time NBA All-Star Jimmy Butler on Monday to persuade him for staying with the Timberwolves.
Nevertheless, the meeting failed as Butler was “sitting out, awaiting the organization to honor his trade request” (Jon Krawczynski).
Despite the fact that team’s president is trying to reunite Butler at the same time the Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor has a different opinion – he is looking to trade the player and is ready to meet owners and front-office executives of other NBA teams himself.
As reported before, Jimmy Butler skipped the Timberwolves media day on Monday with the team’s allowance.
Building off @wojespn tweet: sources say Jimmy Butler remained resolute during his talk with Thibs that his position would not change.
