Dejounte Murray’s 30 points lead Hawks to win over Trail Blazers

Dejounte Murray dropped 30 points and dished out seven assists to guide the Atlanta Hawks (33-39) to a commanding 120-106 victory over the struggling Portland Trail Blazers (19-54) on Wednesday night.

Garrison Mathews provided crucial support off the bench for the Hawks, scoring a season-high 21 points, including five 3-pointers, to help secure Atlanta’s third straight win.

Bogdan Bogdanovic and Clint Capela also made significant contributions for the Hawks, chipping in with 16 points each, while Capela added 10 rebounds to complete a double-double performance.

Portland, hampered by injuries throughout their roster, relied heavily on Dalano Banton, who delivered a career-high 31 points off the bench, along with nine assists and five rebounds. Toumani Camara and Scoot Henderson contributed 17 and 15 points respectively.

The Trail Blazers, starting five rookies for the third straight game, struggled to contain Atlanta’s offensive firepower and committed 18 turnovers despite their 3-point shooting efficiency.

Both teams were missing key starters, with Atlanta absent Trae Young, Jalen Johnson, and Saddiq Bey due to injuries, while Portland dealt with the absence of several key players, including Deandre Ayton, Jerami Grant, and Matisse Thybulle.

The Hawks maintain their position in the play-in zone as they stay in tenth place.
