Luka Doncic shares thoughts on Mavericks’ trade deadline acquisitions

Dallas Mavericks’ star Luka Doncic recently offered his perspective on the team’s trade deadline moves following their victory against the New York Knicks, where he delivered an impressive 39-point performance.

Reflecting on the acquisitions, Doncic expressed optimism, highlighting the addition of PJ Washington and Daniel Gafford as significant upgrades to the Mavericks’ frontcourt.

“I think we got two really good players,” Doncic remarked, emphasizing the value of adding size to the team and securing a backup center, a need he had felt for years.

“We added some size for our team. Got a backup center, which I’ve wanted for like three years already. I think those players are going to help us out a lot,” the Slovenian superstar said.

Doncic provided insights into the specific strengths of Washington and Gafford, noting their distinct skill sets and the benefits they bring to the Mavericks’ roster.

“They’re two different players,” Doncic observed, highlighting Washington’s versatility as a shooter and shot-blocker, while praising Gafford’s prowess as a lob threat and shot-blocking presence in the paint.

Doncic expressed confidence in the impact that Washington and Gafford will have on the team. “I think those players are going to help us out a lot,” he stated.
