Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry recently shared his sentiments regarding the team’s decision to part ways with Cory Joseph at the trade deadline.

Expressing his thoughts, Curry lamented the loss of Joseph, highlighting his professionalism, positive presence, and mentorship within the locker room.

“Sucks losing Cory. If anybody knows Cory Joseph and his personality, his presence…He’s the ultimate professional,” Curry remarked after torching the Indiana Pacers with 42 points, per Jack Winter of ClutchPoints.

Curry emphasized Joseph’s role as a mentor to the younger players, citing his experience and basketball acumen as invaluable assets to the team.

“He brings just a great spirit about it in the locker room helping the young guys. He’s been around, knows how to play. That type of guy is a connector and we’re gonna miss him for sure,” Curry elaborated.

The trade saw the Pacers acquiring Joseph, along with a conditional 2025 second-round pick and cash considerations, from the Warriors in exchange for a 2024 second-round pick.

Despite the transaction, Joseph’s journey with the Pacers is expected to be short-lived, as reports indicate that the team plans to waive the 32-year-old point guard.

Joseph’s stint with the Warriors saw him averaging 6.9 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 3 assists in just over 11 minutes per game.
