As the NBA trade deadline looms, the Philadelphia 76ers are poised to shake up their roster in a bid to bolster their lineup amid the absence of star center Joel Embiid.

According to insights shared by ESPN’s NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, the Sixers are actively engaged in trade discussions, exploring various avenues to enhance their team dynamics.

Wojnarowski highlighted Philadelphia’s recent talks with the Detroit Pistons, indicating a concerted effort to acquire players such as Alec Burks and Bojan Bogdanovic to address their roster needs.

“They’re really trying hard, Philly,” Wojnarowski said on Sports Center. “One team that they had had a lot of conversation with with Detroit. Alec Burks, Bojan Bogdanovic. I’m told that those talks largely broke down this evening.

“But Philly is all over the map trying to get size, trying to get some shooting, some playmaking. They’ve been in a free-fall here without not just Joel Embiid, but having players like De’Anthony Melton out and Tobias Harris, Tyrese Maxey was sick tonight.

Despite facing challenges with injuries and player absences, the 76ers remain determined to fortify their squad with additions that offer size, shooting prowess, and playmaking capabilities.

The absence of key players like De’Anthony Melton, Tobias Harris, and Tyrese Maxey has compounded Philadelphia’s woes, prompting a proactive approach to secure reinforcements before the trade deadline.

“I think this is still a team that thinks they can kind of get their anchor back and try to buy some time with their additions here until Joel Embiid can come back. But they’re going to be really active. I think they’ll make moves. It will be a question of how significant they are.”

With Embiid sidelined due to a meniscus injury, the 76ers are keen to maintain their competitive edge and navigate through a challenging period by making strategic roster adjustments.
