Former NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal, who served as a minority owner of the Sacramento Kings from 2013 to 2022, has set his sights on owning an NBA franchise.
In an interview with Arash Markazi of The Messenger, O’Neal revealed his desire to form his own ownership group. He expressed particular interest in the idea of Las Vegas being awarded an NBA team.
“I know Vegas hasn’t been awarded an NBA team yet, but if they ever get to a point where they are awarded a team, I would like to be a part of that. I don’t want to partner up with nobody. I want it all for myself,” Shaq said.
O’Neal is not the only prominent NBA figure eyeing the potential Las Vegas team, as LeBron James has also voiced his interest in being involved with a franchise in the city.
