The Phoenix Suns underwent significant roster changes, reshaping their team dynamics in the quest for NBA success.
These transformations started last season when the Suns traded away Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson to acquire superstar Kevin Durant.
This offseason, the Suns continued to make substantial moves, trading for Bradley Beal and parting ways with veteran Chris Paul in that trade.
Most recently, the Suns traded Deandre Ayton to the Portland Trail Blazers in exchange for Jusuf Nurkic, solidifying their commitment to evolving their lineup.
During the Suns’ Media Day press conference Devin Booker was asked about these acquisitions and the departure of key players. Booker expressed his mixed emotions about the changes within the team.
“I don’t even like to say that in the same sentence because not even only those guys before that Mikal and Cam, everybody that was a part of the historic part of this franchise,” Booker explained.
“Trades are the hardest part of this business because I know me personally, I’m so invested in understanding that people might be in a better situation.
“I’ve seen Deandre get to Portland, he had a big smile on his face. Even when we shook hands before he walked out after the trade, you could tell his energy was full of new opportunity and momentum.
“That’s all you can ask for is that they’re in a better situation, they continue to flourish and get better. Like I said, the hardest part of this business is that. But those guys have done things for this organization that will never be forgotten.”
