Jason Kidd applauds Damian Lillard trade, discusses Mavericks duo

The recent trade that sent Damian Lillard from the Portland Trail Blazers to the Milwaukee Bucks to join Giannis Antetokounmpo has sent shockwaves through the league.

Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd shared his thoughts on the blockbuster trade during a press conference.

When asked about the trade, Kidd expressed his excitement, stating, “I think it’s great. It’s great for the league. It’s great for both teams – Milwaukee and Portland.”

According to Kidd, the move allows the Trail Blazers to embark on a rebuilding phase under new head coach Chauncey Billups, while the Bucks significantly strengthen their roster with the addition of Lillard.

Kidd also weighed in on his own team’s dynamic duo, Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. “Oh, at the top,” he confidently asserted when asked about their standing in the league. “Why wouldn’t they be? The best scoring combo in the league,” he added.

While Doncic and Irving are renowned for their offensive prowess, Kidd playfully acknowledged their defensive ranking, saying, “Defense – we’ll take number two and number three. We don’t need the number one spot.”
