The Philadelphia 76ers are set to guarantee De’Anthony Melton’s contract for the 2023-24 season, per Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

Melton will now fully earn $8 million in the upcoming season in contrast to a partially guaranteed $1.5 million.

Acquired in a trade with the Memphis Grizzlies from last year’s offseason, Melton emerged as a solid backup point man for the 76ers. He went on to become a reliable facilitator behind both James Harden and Tyrese Maxey, and a spark plug scorer off the bench.

Melton averaged 10.1 points, 4.1 boards, 2.6 assists, and 1.6 steals in his debut campaign for Philly in 77 games of play.

With Nick Nurse now the newest mentor for Philadelphia, Melton is still expected to be relied on by the club with his production.
