Donte DiVincenzo has declined his player option for the 2023-24 season and will test free agency. Several teams are interested in the 26-year-old shooting guard with the Knicks being the favorite to land him, per Ian Begley.

Josh Hart opting into his contract for next season gave New York some financial flexibility which gives New York a better chance at signing DiVincenzo.

“[The Knicks] have their eye on Donte DiVincenzo going into free agency,” Begley said. “They will have competition for DiVincenzo from teams like the Bulls, Timberwolves and Pistons. But if they can offer the money that let’s say the Bulls and T-Wolves can and that exception and everything’s equal, I think DiVincenzo chooses New York.

“Hart opting into his contract gives next year gives the Knicks some financial flexibility and the ability to make Donte DiVincenzo a competitive offer in free agency.”

This past season DiVincenzo averaged 9.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 26.3 minutes per game for the Warriors.
