Donte DiVincenzo is set to decline his $4.7 million player option for the 2023-2024 season to become a free agent, according to Kendra Andrews of ESPN.

DiVincenzo appears looking to capitalize on the increase he made toward his value after a solid one-year run with the Golden State Warriors in the previous campaign.

The 26-year-old guard averaged 9.4 points, 4.5 boards, 3.5 assists, and 1.3 steals across 72 games in 26.3 minutes. His reliability, availability, and hustle were crucial in times of the Dubs’ injury issues within their roster during the regular season.

Golden State inked DiVincenzo to a two-year, $9.2 million contract last offseason. As such, with the effects of non-Bird rights, the franchise can only offer the wing up to $5.4 million in salary, per ESPN’s Bobby Marks.

DiVincenzo spent the first 3 ½ years of being a Milwaukee Buck. Before joining the Warriors, he spent the half of 2021-22 with the Sacramento Kings.
