Nikola Vucevic on Evan Fournier: “It sucks for him to not play”

Evan Fournier has not played a single game since mid-November when Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau decided to cut him from the rotation.

The 30-year-old French shooting guard, who started almost in every game since the 2015-2016 season, says he is not thinking about a trade yet.

Fournier’s former teammate in Orlando, Nikola Vucevic, understands that it is difficult for him to not play.

Via Stefan Bondy of New York Daily News:

“One thing about him, he’s a huge competitor. He plays to win. He gives it all up. For sure it’’’s difficult for him to not be out there and not being able to play. Especially when he’s into his best years right now and he’s coming off a good season as well.

“So it sucks for him to not play. But one thing I respect about him is he’s staying a pro throughout it all.”

This season Fournier is averaging lowest since his rookie year 6.9 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 20 minutes per game.
