The talks between the Jazz and the Knicks regarding potential trade centered around Donovan Mitchell are still ongoing. Reportedly, Utah has a strong interest in RJ Barrett and want him to be included by New York in their package.

The Knicks might be open to trading the 22-year-old shooting guard. It was reported that the Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau prefers keeping Quentin Grimes over Barrett.

The Jazz continue to have strong interest in Knicks’ wing RJ Barrett, per SNY sources. Evan Fournier’s name has also come up in discussions, sources say. The Jazz are seeking at multiple first-round picks. Utah would want at least one of the trio of Obi Toppin, Quentin Grimes and Immanuel Quickley in a trade if Barrett is included, per sources.

This past season Barrett averaged 20 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3 assists in 34.5 minutes per game for the Knicks.
