Jazz edge Rockets despite Fred VanVleet’s 42 points

The Utah Jazz (30-50) narrowly defeated the Houston Rockets (39-41) 124-121, despite a spectacular 42-point performance from Fred VanVleet.

Luka Samanic led the Jazz with a season-high 22 points, while Keyonte George contributed 20 points to snap Utah’s 13-game losing streak.

Houston’s VanVleet was unstoppable from beyond the arc, sinking nine 3-pointers, but struggled inside, shooting just 3 of 17.

Cam Whitmore and Amen Thompson provided support for the Rockets with 18 and 15 points, respectively.

Despite VanVleet’s efforts to keep the Rockets in contention, the Jazz secured the victory with clutch plays down the stretch.
