The NBA Preseason finished up on Saturday with three games. It’s time for the under the radar guys to prove their worth in regular season contests.
Cole Anthony: The Magic rookie looked impressive all preseason. Scored the go ahead basket with 14 seconds left for the Orlando win. 19 points, 4 assists
Khem Birch: Birch sets some nice screens for a big man. Set a solid off ball screen to free up Cole Anthony for a three last night. 9 points, 5 rebounds
Miles Bridges: Bridges brought nice energy and rebounding for Charlotte last night. Started in 89 games in his career. 12 points, 15 rebounds
Caleb Martin: Martin did a little bit of everything in limited minutes. Dished out three assists and made two three-pointers as well. 10 points, 4-4 FG
Malik Monk: Monk can fill it up off the bench as a scorer and playmaker. Going to be interesting to see what his role is for Charlotte in 2021. 11 points, 3-5 FG
Delon Wright: Wright makes the game easier for Detroit. His ball handling, defense and passing all stand out. 9 points, 4 rebounds
Svi Mykhailiuk: Svi has improved every season of his young career. Underrated playmaker with the ball in his hands. 11 points, 3 3’s
Killian Hayes: The Pistons rookie didn’t shoot it well during preseason, but you can see the potential in his game. Can knock down outside shots and makes smart assists. 11 points, 2 3’s
Josh Jackson: Jackson shot it confidently from outside for Detroit. He’s hoping to improve his three point shot this season. 13 points, 3 3’s
Deni Avdija: Deni never takes a bad shot and has a polished feel for the game. Shot the ball over 50% from the field in preseason. 9 points, 10 rebounds
Troy Brown Jr: Brown provides multiple skills for Washington. His minutes and production went up in 2020. 9 points, 3 3’s
Ish Smith: Ish didn’t make a shot on Saturday, but ran the offense beautifully. Veteran who’s a true point guard with a quick first step. 8 assists, 2 rebounds
Cam Reddish: Reddish looked improved all preseason. Still very young at 21. 18 points, 2 3’s
Kevin Huerter: Atlanta will need solid scoring games from Huerter off the bench to win games. Played well early last season before missing several games with an injury. 16 points, 4 3’s
Bruno Fernando: Fernando looks to be finishing the ball around the rim better. Can bring energy off the bench as a big. 6 points, 5 rebounds
Grayson Allen: Allen started in three preseason games for Memphis. Didn’t miss a shot from the field vs. Atlanta on Saturday. 13 points, 6 rebounds
De’Anthony Melton: Melton shot it nicely from deep last night. Another player who has a low career three-point percentage with potential to improve in 2021. 14 points, 4 3’s
John Konchar: Rebounded the ball well in limited minutes. Always makes a positive impact on the game. 8 points, 6 rebounds
