The NBA has opened an investigation of the reported transaction involving the Milwaukee Bucks and Bogdan Bogdanovic, according to Marc Stein of The New York Times.

The investigation will center around tampering, as the deal was leaked in the early hours of Nov. 17.

As a restricted free agent, he was not allowed to have contract talks before the start of free agency on Nov. 20 and therefore, never agreed to the deal.

The situation led to the Bucks and Bogdanovic reportedly becoming “upset” with each other.

The sign-and-trade would have sent Bogdanovic from the Sacramento Kings to the Bucks in exchange for Donte DiVincenzo, Ersan Ilyasova and D.J. Wilson.

Ilyasova was waived by the Bucks, meaning that Bogdanovic will proceed to free agency and likely sign elsewhere.
