The Oklahoma City Thunder is the first NBA team to announce a plan for limited attendance ahead of the team’s home games for the 2020/21 campaign.

According to OKC’s official press release:

“As a limited number of fans and guests return to Thunder games and other events at Chesapeake Energy Arena beginning next month, they will see a bevy of substantive practices, protocols and technologies designed to keep them safe and healthy, while still being able to enjoy the game night and entertainment experience.”

The NBA season is set to start on December 22, after the NBA and the NPBA agreed to terms for a 72-game regular season.

While most teams haven’t made official announcements as to what their situation will be inside of arenas for the upcoming season, the Thunder have made it official they will have at least some fans in attendance.

However, that may not be the case for other NBA teams as the situation varies across other US cities.
